Our Outreach counselors are available to consult with residents, family members and caregivers to discuss resources and services available for seniors and provides application assistance available for:            

  • Snap

    SNAP benefits (formerly food stamps)

    The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) can help you expand your healthy food budget and explore opportunities to support your wellbeing and education and employment goals.

  • Fuel Assistance

    The Massachusetts' Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a free resource offered in partnership with the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities that helps eligible households pay a portion of winter heating bills.

  • Medicare/Heath Insurance

    Medicare is a national health insurance program for people who are 65 or older and adults with disabilities. 


    Medicare is divided into 4 parts: A, B, C, and D. 


    Anyone turing 65 and not working or retiring must:


    1. Sign up for Part A and Part B through the Social Security Office located at 106 Pleasant St, Attleboro (1-800-655-6469)
    2. After you are signed up for Part A and Part B, you make an appointment with us to enroll in Supplemental Plans, Part D or a Medicare Advantage Plan.
  • MassHealth

    In Massachusetts, Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) are combined into one program called MassHealth. MassHealth members may be able to get doctors visits, prescription drugs, hospital stays, and many other important services.

  • Long Term Care

    Our outreach counselors can assist you with finding longterm care for you or your loved ones. 

  • SHINE (Serving the Health Insurance Needs of Everyone)

    The SHINE Program provides free health insurance information, counseling, and assistance to people who are eligible for Medicare and their caregivers. Certified, trained SHINE counselors, who are often volunteers, work with participants to help explore Medicare plan options and uncover ways to save money on both health insurance and prescription drug costs.   


    Our SHINE counselors can help you:  


    • Understand your Medicare and other health insurance and drug coverage options 
    • Find the right coverage for you  
    • Find ways you can save money on your prescription drugs and health insurance  
    • Help you apply for programs that will lower your costs  
    • Provide information to help you make the best coverage selection
  • Durable Medical Equipment

    We have free loans of durable medical such as walkers, commondes, crutches, shower benches, and wheehchairs. 


    We also accept donations of used durable medical equipment that is clean and in good condition.


    Please call the center to inquire about our most current inventory before stopping by for a loan or brining in a donation since our space is limited
